Taking your juice cleanse to the next level

Aka, drinking the right juice, at the right time, for the right purpose. If you're really committed to getting the most out of your juice cleanse, here are some guaranteed tips that will help.

1. Consider the season.

The time of the year can actually affect how you should approach your juice cleanse. Some times are better than others, depending on what you're looking to get out of your juice cleanse.

For example, January is a popular time to do a cleanse because you can use it as a way to reset after the holidays. This time of year is also good for boosting your immune system because it's cold outside, and you want to avoid getting sick. To accomplish this, You may want to drink more warming and fortifying juices like ginger, turmeric, and carrot to accomplish this.

Yet, usually, winter tends to be more challenging because of the cold weather. So cold juices or raw vegetables may not be as appealing. Even Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) takes seasonality into account when it comes to health. They believe that what you eat should correspond to the conditions outside.

Winter is a season of dryness and increased Yang energy, so in this case, it may be better to have warmer foods and fewer raw vegetables. For example, light soups or broths with vegetables would be more suitable at this time of year than juices.

However, if you're the kind of person who drinks water with ice cubes even in January, then, by all means, stick to your guns and drink whatever cleanse juices make you happy! The important thing is to listen to your body and what it's telling you.

Spring, on the other hand, is a wonderful time to detoxify and cleanse before beginning "swimsuit season.  If you're looking to shed weight or just feel better about how your clothes fit, this might be the perfect time to do a juice cleanse. Plus, with the warm weather, it can actually be a ton of fun. Cooling and hydrating juices like cucumber, green, and mint are perfect for quenching thirst and restoring vitality.

2. Consider the phase of your cycle (if you have a period, of course).

The best time of the month to do a detox is when you're ovulating. This is because estrogen levels rise during ovulation, and this will help balance out your hormones. Second, the liver is at its most active when you're ovulating because it's working to create progesterone from estrogen.

While you don't have to do a full-on detox every time you ovulate, doing a two-day juice cleanse before or after might be a good way to keep your body healthy and balanced throughout your menstrual cycle. Plus, if you get cramps during that time of the month anyway, going on a juice cleanse could actually help relieve them!

3. Schedule it ahead of time.

Choose a time of year that's not your busiest. This will help ensure that you have enough time to commit to the juice cleanse and actually complete it. If you know that you have a lot of work deadlines or social engagements coming up, it's probably not the best time to do a juice cleanse.

For this reason, you might even want to replan your calendar so that your juice cleanse lands during a slower time. This can be a great way to take a break from the craziness of your everyday life and focus on your health. It will also allow you to have some time to rest and reflect and have fewer temptations to break your cleanse.

4. Get 8 quality hours of sleep

Getting enough quality hours of sleep will help your body rejuvenate and heal while you're cleansing. When sharing her experience, Laura, CPRESS creative director, has said, " The night after a cleanse, I usually get an amazing night of sleep because my digestive system isn't overloaded. "

It's quite similar to eating dinner very early. Your body has the time to rest and process the nutrients it receives, so you wake up feeling refreshed and energized. She further adds, "Personally, not going to sleep on a full stomach has been a game-changer for my sleep."

So make sure to get plenty of rest during your juice cleanse, and you'll likely feel more energized and refreshed. Plus, when you're well-rested, you'll be more likely to stick to your juice cleanse and less likely to give in to temptation.

5. If your cleanse starts with Detox Water, you might consider warming that up.

If you're starting your juice cleanse with detox water, you might want to consider warming it up. Detox water is great for restoring balance in the body and flushing out toxins. It's also a great way to start the day because it's hydrating and refreshing.

Warm water with ginger and lemon is a great way to wake the body up in a soothing and gentle way. Plus, ginger can help activate your digestive system so that you start working on processing the nutrients from your juice cleanse more quickly.

Drink Up, Gorge Out

It's a no-brainer that health is wealth. And Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned juice pro, what can't be denied is that everyone deserves to feel good.

And the only way to get there is via clean eating, and drinking nothing but juice for either one day or 3-5 days will definitely give you the boost your body needs!

The next time you are feeling sluggish or just need some "me" time, go on a juice cleanse. Your mind and soul will thank you later!
